About Butik Roti Maria

Creative Hosts of Healing—Where Nature, Food & Souls Reconnect

About Us

We serve food, yes.
But more than that, we serve pause.
We serve grounding.
We serve reconnection.
We serve the kind of space that reminds people they were never created to live in constant internal noise.

Butik Roti Maria is a therapeutic eco-sensory café, rejuvenating riverside retreat, and sanctuary where we serve as creative hosts—curating meaningful, sensory-rich experiences that go beyond dining. Rooted in a small sandy stream and surrounded by nature, we offer ankle-deep water therapy, barefoot grounding, and artisan food to help families, children, elders, and the neurodiverse community slow down, reconnect, and regulate. Here, nature becomes therapy, food becomes comfort, and every visit is a gentle journey to feel, heal, and belong.

Self Regulation

We serve as creative hosts, cultivating an inclusive, nature-integrated sanctuary where food, environment, and community come together to restore human well-being. We design immersive, sensory-rich experiences that support emotional regulation—especially for families navigating digital fatigue and neurodiversity. Through riverside therapy, grounding experiences, and artisan gastronomy, we invite every guest to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover joy— one meaningful moment at a time.

Our Story

I want to take you back to a small home kitchen, where Chef Maria and Chef Baudin baked every day—not for fame, but to fund their children’s education. From that kitchen, they grew into a small workshop, then a humble kampung bread factory—built on resilience, love, and a deep belief in honest food. Then came the pandemic, and like many others, we were hit hard. In that uncertainty, we made a bold decision to transform our factory into a child-friendly riverside restaurant—just as we were witnessing a rising crisis, with over 400,000 children facing mental health challenges in 2020.

That number stayed with us. Because we realised people were not just hungry for food—they were hungry for rest, connection, and healing. So we listened—to families, to children, to our own lived experiences—and we began to reimagine everything. What started as a restaurant evolved into a child-friendly riverside botanical garden, and today, into a therapeutic eco-sensory café. A sanctuary for those experiencing digital fatigue, for neurodiverse individuals, for babies, toddlers, and elders—where nature becomes the medium for calm, regulation, and reconnection.

Today, Butik Roti Maria stands as a riverside sanctuary where children play freely in ankle-deep water and sand, where families reconnect without screens, and where communities gather with meaning. We no longer just serve food—we host experiences. From a family kitchen to a living ecosystem of healing and hospitality, this is our journey. And if you’ve ever felt tired, overwhelmed, or disconnected—we built this place for you.
