Chef Baudin: From Engine Rooms to Oven Rooms — A Legacy Baked with Love

Behind every slice of bread at Butik Roti Maria, there’s a man of steel hands and soft-hearted passion — Chef Baudin. Once a marine engineer navigating military engine ships, today he is celebrated as a master artisan baker, teacher, and legacy builder whose dough has fed generations and dreams.

For over 30 years, Chef Baudin has dedicated himself to the art of breadmaking. His journey began in a small kitchen at home, where he baked humble buns and loaves to fund the education of his three children. Every loaf was kneaded with the same discipline, detail, and precision he once applied on ship engines — temperature, timing, and texture all mattered.

From buns to puffs, sandwich loaves to crispy crusted delights, Chef Baudin’s creations are not just baked goods — they are stories of survival, sacrifice, and sincerity.

With love and resilience, he expanded from that tiny kitchen to build a small bread factory, supplying schools, universities, and cafes across the country. And now, his legacy lives on in a bigger way — as Butik Roti Maria, a sanctuary by the riverside where food heals and empowers.

For the past 9 years, he has also trained aspiring entrepreneurs, especially from underserved communities, in the Bread Baking Entrepreneurship Course — passing on his skills with the same warmth and wisdom that raised his own children.

From baking to raise a family,

to baking that raises a community.

Today, Chef Baudin’s ovens no longer just bake bread — they bake hopeincome, and identity.

🧡 This is not just his story. This is the soul of Butik Roti Maria.
